The Hormones…  Maca is a cruciferous root vegetable from the same family as broccoli, radish and watercress and, is grown in the high Andean mountains of Peru. It tastes slightly malty (think of Ovaltine or Milo) but is also earthy and a bit sweet all at the same time.

It contains vitamins B, C and E; calcium, potassium, iron, iodine, zinc, magnesium and 19 amino acids and, has been shown to be effective in improving sexual function by boosting libido and increasing endurance 😉  It’s also prescribed by complimentary healthy practitioners for the relief of both menstrual and menopausal symptoms, including poor mood and anxiety 🙂 Consumption of maca is thought to increase both mental and physical energy levels and, with all those nutrients it’s said to be very beneficial for overall health generally.
