Presenting the Magic Maqui berry Mandala!

Yet another ‘super’ berry to nestle in next to your countless other ‘superberries’, Goji, Acai, Aronia, Blueberry, Cranberry etc etc etc but, a ‘super’ berry nonetheless.

The Maqui berry or Chilean Wineberry is a small purple fruit from the Maqui tree and is native to the Patagonian mountain region of Southern Chile.

It was used by the Mapuche Indians as a herbal remedy for ailments such as sore throats, diarrhoea, ulcers and fever. With a similar taste to blackberries, it’s an antioxidant-rich food source and, contains vitamin C, iron, potassium, anthocyanins and polyphenols, as well as anti-inflammatory properties – great news if you’re wanting to build up your arsenal of anti-ageing ingredients!

So what else is in the Magic Maqui Berry Mandala?

The Maqui berry in this little baby comes in a powdered form and his friends are…

*banana *hemp protein *maca *lucuma *baobab (I know :-0, I’ll talk to you about that another time) *chia *mixed frozen berries (but you can use whatever berries you fancy) *pumpkin seeds *filtered water all *omni-blended for your ‘super’ delectation!

Maqui berries can be found at most good health food stores.
