Ageless beauty…

Ok, so I haven’t quite got to the stage where I’m having to shave my beard off but, this week, I’m interested in whether we can reverse the trend of ageing being seen in a negative light and relieve some of the relentless pressure to ‘retain our youthful looks’? Whilst this notion might just put me out of a blog, it was the topic of a recent panel discussion organised by top British beauty blogger and founder of the 30+ Blog Collective, the London Beauty Queen in collaboration with Eau Thermale Avène. Smooth Mama reckons this is berry nice…

Presenting the Magic Maqui berry Mandala!  Yet another ‘super’ berry to nestle in next to your countless other ‘superberries’, Goji, Acai, Aronia, Blueberry, Cranberry etc etc etc but, a ‘super’ berry nonetheless. So what could be irritating our guts so much that we end up with a little Buddha belly and the ability to power our own...

Spare a thought for the planet as we head into the silly season

Instead of stuffing my face with more chocolate and wittering on about skincare products, this week, as the world marched against climate change, and the UK decided to add their two pennies worth to another pointless war, I’m on a mission to save the planet! Well sort of… I recently posted a beautiful video up on FB in support of the WWF (errrrr, that’s the World Wildlife Fund; no wrestling here folks, other than the wrestle I have with my conscience on these matters!) If you missed it, here it is – a touching reflection on the damage we’re inflicting on the beautiful...

Tea and chocolate – a matcha made in heaven

Mmmmm tea and chocolate – the perfect combo; but not just an ordinary cuppa with a favourite choccie bar on the side – this week I’ve drawn some inspiration from Singaporean based Teathos and made some raw cacao brownies with Matcha tea! What is Matcha? Matcha is 100% ground tea leaves. Its vibrant green colour comes from the way it is grown and cultivated – during the last weeks before harvest. Matcha tea leaves are grown in the shade which means the tea leaves produce a tremendous amount of chlorophyll. What are the benefits of Matcha? The intense amount of chlorophyll in Matcha tea not only...
